Our family goes hunting,...... but I'm not sure if I'm really much of a hunter. I enjoy looking at nature, the trees, moss, leaves,birds..... if I have my camera I end up taking pictures. This picture was taken on a recent hunting expedition in Livermore, Maine, where I wandered the woods with our youngest son on a drizzly day. After getting damp we searched for a "dry spot" and sat under a grove of evergreens. We were very quiet for quite a long time (like good hunters), but after awhile my "inner camera nut" surfaced because of the beauty around me and I began taking pictures. We saw no deer. The light coming through the branches, trees, leaves, evergreens reminded me of stained glass windows in a cathedral. "Cathedral In The Woods", by Joy Nichols, came about from that woodsy venture. This photo has been edited with watercolor process and texture attempting to emphasize a "light coming through stained glass effect".
