In Byron, of western Maine, locals flock to a waterway called Coos Canyon. A part of the Swift River in Oxford County, Coos Canyon is a section where the water cuts through rock creating a series of pools and falls. It is both scenic and a wonderful place to cool off on a hot summer day for those who want to daringly float down through. Some spots are safer than others so it's best to "watch where one is headed". Joy Nichols photograph "At Coos Canyon" captures one section of the rocky beauty.

I am an artist and photographer obsessed by creativity. My artwork has primarily been in pencil, colored pencil,oil,acrylic and watercolor painting. I love to capture the beauty around me with photography. At two I was drawing, in high school I was able to major in an art concentration of study, and later graduated from college with a B.A. in Fine Art. I love the countryside, the woods and nature.
